Questions people actually ask
- What happens if the book does not answer my question?
- It says so. The assistant is built to decline rather than assemble a plausible-sounding answer out of unrelated passages, and declining is the behaviour it is tested for.
- Can I check where an answer came from?
- Yes — that is the point. Every answer cites the passage it read, and clicking the citation opens the book at that passage with it highlighted.
- Are my books private?
- Your uploads are private to your library. We do not train AI models on them, sell your data, or use it for advertising.
- Does it handle equations?
- In an EPUB, equations are read exactly as the publisher encoded them. In a scanned PDF they come from OCR, so check a formula before you rely on it.
What it does not do yet
You have been sold AI reading tools before. Here is where this one is weak, so you can decide before you spend an evening on it.
- It runs in a browser, on a phone or a laptop. There is no native app yet.
- It finds figures and tells you what they show, but it will not read a value off a chart unless the value is printed on the chart.
- Highlight and note export goes to Notion, Obsidian, Markdown or JSON. Generated study material — summaries, quizzes, flashcards — does not export yet.
- It is a private beta. Things break, and the deal is that you tell me when they do.
